Hello. We are Jamin (pronounced “JAY-min”) and Jessi. We want to thank you for taking the time to get to know us. Adoption is a difficult but loving decision. We also realize that reading through all the profiles may be overwhelming, but feel that you will know in your heart when you have found the right family. We respect you for wanting the best for your child, and we promise that he or she will always know his or her adoption story and the wonderful way we became a family. This child will know the courage and strength that you had in making this important decision. If you place your baby in our arms, you can rest assured that your gift will always be treasured. We will strive each day to fill this baby’s life with the love and opportunity you would hope for. We are a warm, loving couple that comes from two very supportive families. Our relationship and love for one another has been strengthened through our struggle with infertility. We value education, compassion, family closeness, and faith. We also like to have fun! If we are fortunate to be selected as part of your adoption plan, we want you to know, above all, that the child you give birth to will be raised in a nurturing, loving, and secure environment. Most of all, we want him or her to grow up to be their own person – healthy, happy and equipped to pursue their talents and achieve all of their dreams.
ABOUT US: We met 5 years ago through mutual friends. It’s funny how we shared many of the same friends, but had never met each other before then. We dated for a little over a year, became engaged, and were married on April 24, 2004. We are members of the local Catholic church. Jamin is 32 years old and works as a guidance counselor at two area elementary schools. Jessi is 28 years old and works as an office manager for a local HVAC company. We live in a quiet, rural area in west central, Wisconsin. We love the solitude and peacefulness of our home. We like to sit outside as the sun goes down and watch deer come into the field behind our house. Although we have not been blessed with a child yet, we do have two dogs and a cat that are very much a part of our family.
In our spare time, we like to get together with friends and family or enjoy the outdoors (especially fishing). We play co-ed volleyball and softball during the summers with some of our friends. Jamin enjoys music, so he spends some of his free time playing guitar and singing. He was in a band for a few years, but at the current time he just plays for himself, Jessi and the dogs. If Jessi is not working in the yard she enjoys doing her crafts and taking walks with our hairy, four-legged kids. One of our traditions is watching football on Sunday and cheering on our Packers!
OUR FAMILY: Jessi is the middle child in her family. She has an older sister, Shiann, who is 30 years old and has been dating Mike for 2 1/2 years. She also has a younger brother, Clayton, who is 23 years old and has been dating Amanda for 5 years. We consider Mike and Amanda part of our family. Jessi’s parents, Larry and Mary, live nearby and are excited that a special person like you could make them first-time grandparents.
Jamin is the youngest of 4 children in his family. His oldest brother, Shane, is 47 years old, married to Deb and has two sons. His sister, Michele, is 38 years old and has been dating John for 8 years. Aaron is 36 years old, married to Julia and has 3 boys and a girl. We are Godparents to one of their sons. Jamin’s parents, Jerry and Mary Ann, look forward to being blessed with another grandchild through adoption.
Adoption is not new to our family. Jamin’s oldest brother and his wife adopted a son 13 years ago. It’s truly a blessing to have him in our family. We also have three close friends who were adopted, and they have expressed to us how thankful they are that their birthmother chose adoption. Our friends and family are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our adopted child and that makes us very excited.
ABOUT JESSI (BY JAMIN): One of the biggest reasons I married Jessi is that I knew what a wonderful mother she would be. I would see her with my nephews or with one of our friend’s babies, and it just seems to come naturally to her. She is so good with kids, and I love that about her. For that reason, the infertility problems that we have experienced for the first 4 years of our marriage have been tough. I always try to reassure her that somehow, someway it will work out and she will be a mother. It is very important for me to be able to laugh every day, and Jessi’s wonderful sense of humor makes sure of that. I’m not just saying that, either. She has had me crying from laughing so hard on more than one occasion. She is truly a “people-person” and all of her co-workers and people she comes across in her life tell me about how much they enjoy being around her. My best friend Darby gets along so well with Jessi, which means a lot to me. Sometimes Darby will call, talk to Jessi for 20 minutes and then hang up without even talking to me! I am so lucky to have a wife that enjoys so many of the same things that I do, such as fishing and sports. I genuinely love spending time with her. She is such a great wife, yet I know that her life would be unfulfilled without a chance to be a mother. I can’t wait to see her in that new light. I can’t wait to see her as a mother to our child. Another reason that I knew Jessi was the right one for me was how well I get along with her family. I go camping and fishing with them all the time and love to hang out with them, even if Jessi isn’t with us. I honestly “lucked out” when I met Jessi and her family.
ABOUT JAMIN (BY JESSI): When I met Jamin, the first thing I noticed was how funny he was; he really had me laughing. I remember our first date very well. We went out to eat and I remember that there was never a quiet moment between us, we were so comfortable in each other’s presence. After finding out that he was a guidance counselor, I knew he must be good with children and after seeing him play with his nephews I confirmed it. Jamin and I dated a month when I knew it was time to introduce him to my family and when I did they seemed to just click. I was not sure if I would ever get him and my dad apart! Jamin is the most caring guy I have ever met and I knew once I got to know him that not only would he be a wonderful husband, but also a fantastic dad. Even through our tough infertility days, Jamin was always there to pick me up and make me smile. He is someone I know will be beside me for life and I look forward to each and every day with him. One thing I admire about Jamin is his willingness to teach children. He coached basketball for four years and currently teaches guitar lessons. Jamin is someone you can count on. If he says he will be there, you better believe he will be there. He is always there with a helping hand. I love being around him. Jamin is someone who is willing to try anything at least once….even if it is a little girly ;). I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful person in my life.
OUR THANKS TO YOU: We have a happy life, but it is incomplete without a child. We admire and respect you for the choice you are making, and you will forever be in our thoughts and prayers. In moments of fear or self-doubt, please remember that you have chosen to give a life-changing gift that will positively impact many lives. Because of you, our family will be complete and that is something that we will never forget. We will cherish you and your selfless decision for the rest of our lives.
With Hope,
Jamin and Jessi

The Gift We Could Not Give Each Other
When she was a little girl
she held her dolls like children.
Dreaming of the day when she'd
have babies of her own.
Now those dolls lie on a shelf
as lifeless as the dreams she dreamed.
It's become the deepest ache
her heart has ever known.
There's a man who's trying his best
to comfort her with roses.
Telling her he'll find a way
to make their dreams come true.
He's been saying this for years,
but now his tears reveal the truth.
In his heart he fears
there's nothing else that they can do.
Then a gift is given,
a phone call straight from heaven.
There's a child that's nearly due
that a young girl's giving you.
She gave more than just one life
when she makes of this man and wife
a father and a mother.
She gives the gift they could not give each other.
More than we could ever know
this couple thanks the heavens.
Every time they hold their child,
they feel they hold the world.
Words will never be enough
to share the way the family feels.
From deep inside their hearts
they want to tell that girl:
Not a day is ever through
till we've thanked the Lord for you.
Your sweetness lingers near
in our hearts and thoughts and prayers.
You gave more than just one life
when you made of this man and wife,
a Father and a Mother.
When you gave the gift we could not give each other.
You have changed our lives forever.
Only you and God above
could give this gift of love
we could not give each other.
Different kinds of Love
There were two special women, they never knew each other.
One you don’t remember, the other you call mother.
Two very different lives together make yours one.
The first one like a shooting star, the other like the sun.
One gave to you the gift of life, one showed you how to live it.
The first one gave a need for love, the second was there to give it.
One gave you roots of heritage, the other your good name.
One gave you seeds of talent, the other gave you aim.
One gave to you emotions; the other calmed your fears.
One saw your first endearing smile, the other dried your tears.
The first one had to give you up, it was all that she could do.
The other prayed for her own child and then was led to you.
I hope you see my precious child, that you’re the product of,
not just one but two hearts, with different kinds of love.
Not My Flesh
Not flesh of our flesh
Nor bone of our bone,
But still miraculously
Our own.
Never forget
For a single minute:
You didn't grow under my heart
But in it.
Once a Stranger
Once strangers, not knowing of each other,
God brought us together
To share a special bond of love
With a sweet little baby
You may never understand the pain
Or know the tears we cried.
Our heart's desire was for a child
To nurture, love, and guide.
We may never understand the pain
Or know the tears you cried.
You said good-bye to this precious child,
Entrusting me to nurture, love, and guide.
We see your face in her pretty smile,
And love in her sparkling eyes.
This child is the answer to countless prayers,
A blessing to many lives.
No longer strangers,
We share a special bond of love
With a very precious gift
From our God above.
I Knew of You
I knew of you before your birth,
I loved you before we ever met.
I prayed for you day and night,
Thankful your birth mother had chosen life.
The waiting was so anxious and hard,
You already held a place in my heart.
Weeks went by, and sometimes I cried.
Finally one day came a call with good news.
Tears of joy fell on our cheeks
The first time we held you,
Precious Baby, so tiny and sweet.
We are thankful your birth mother had chosen life.
Rocking and singing sweet lullabies,
You've brought much joy to so many lives.
We’ll love you forever, sweet little one.
Memories to treasure, a new life begun.
The Chosen Heart
Longing for a child to love,
I'd wish upon the stars above.
In my heart I always knew
A part of me was meant for you.
I think how happy we will be,
Once I adopt you, and you adopt me.
I dream of all the joy you'll bring,
Imagining even the littlest things.
The way it will feel to hold you tight,
And tuck you in every night.
The drawing on the refrigerator door,
And childhood toys across the floor.
The favorite stories read again and again,
And hours of games with make-believe friends.
The day you took my outstretched hand,
A journey ended, but our lives began.
Still mesmerized by your sweet face,
Still warmed inside by our first embrace.
I promised to give you a happy home,
And a loving family all your own.
A house you've now made complete,
With laughter, smiles, and tiny feet.
A parent is one who guides the way,
Know I will be there everyday.
Rest easy as each night you sleep,
A lifetime of love is yours to keep.
Longing for a child to love,
I'd wish upon the stars above.
In my heart I always knew,
A part of me belonged to you.
I sit here and wonder
Is it ever to be?
Will I get to display
The mother in me?
Wonder in time
How the story will end,
Will they just be for others-
The showers I attend.
When’s it my turn
I ask God each day,
The only answer I get
Is, “Not today”.
I ask only to know
What my future might be,
To plan and prepare
God, please tell me.
I just need to know
How long to be strong,
For sometimes I question
my strength to go on.
I sit here and wonder
Is it ever to be?
Will I get to display
The mother in me?
Some dream of big houses
Or shiny new cars,
Ours is to someday
Hold a baby that’s ours.
Some dream of more money
To hoard and to keep,
Mine is to someday
Rock my baby to sleep.
Some dream of careers
In buildings so tall,
His is to someday
Toss his kid a football.
Some dream of great power
To be strong and tough,
Ours is to someday
Have a child to love.
Some dream of things
Such as silver and gold
Ours is of the day
Our child we’ll hold.
